| It's estimated that five to ten million girls and women—as well as one million boys and men—struggle with an eating disorder.
St. Joseph Hospital's Eating Disorders Treatment Program offers a caring, nurturing environment to help people with anorexia and bulimia recovery from their symptoms and restore healthy eating habits.

At St. Joseph Hospital, we develop a unique treatment plan specifically tailored for each patient. Since we offer a hospital-based program, patients have access to a multidisciplinary team of experts that includes a physician, a psychiatrist, a registered dietitian, and other licensed clinicians. We encourage our patients and their family members to consider themselves as part of the "treatment team."
We offer a variety of programs based on our patients' needs. In the Outpatient Program, treatment includes group therapy, psychological education, nutrition assessment, and education. Patients attend the program five days a week, and are provided with supported meals and snacks. We emphasize how to cope with the day-to-day challenges that face people with eating disorders. Patients receive nutritional and psychological support in a gentle, nurturing environment.
Patients at medical risk may be referred to acute inpatient care. At this level, a multidisciplinary team provides around-the-clock support, supervision, and psychiatric intervention as needed.
