The National Cancer Institute estimates that one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. Interestingly, it is estimated that approximately 46% to 52% of women living in Orange County are at high risk for developing breast cancer. The best way to fight this prevalent cancer is to detect its presence at its earliest stage. However, only 57% of women over age 40 in Orange County has had an annual mammogram in the past year (as recommended by American Cancer Society Guidelines). Women need not fear these screenings: They are simple, affordable, and most importantly can save lives. At our Comprehensive Breast Center, today's breast imaging technology also makes screening and diagnosis more accurate than ever.
