Enlarged Prostate (BPH)

Advanced Minimally Invasive Laser Surgery for Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy (BPH)

St. Joseph Hospital offers minimally invasive laser procedures for the treatment of an enlarged prostate. Fifty percent of all men over the age of 60 will suffer from this condition, also known as “Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy” or “BPH”. Up to 80% of these patients will experience symptoms of frequent urination (especially at night), a sense of urgency, the need to strain or push, pain, burning, dribbling or leaking, weak stream or a feeling that their bladder never completely empties.

Using the latest technology, Laser Vaporization of the Prostate, we offer our patients an effective, less invasive procedure that immediately vaporizes and precisely removes enlarged prostate tissue. Most patients return home a few hours after the procedure to a lifestyle free of urinary symptoms and minimal to no post-operative pain.

State-of-the-art technology used at St. Joseph Hospital

Prostate Laser Technology used at the Minimally Invasive Urology Center includes:

  • Greenlight HPS Laser
  • HoLap Holmium Ablation Laser
