Nasal & Sinus Center

Welcome to the St. Joseph Hospital Nasal & Sinus Center, Southern California's only complete center for the diagnosis and treatment of sinus problems, snoring and sleep apnea. We've combined the latest in advanced technology with medical and surgical specialists to ensure the highest quality of sinus care to patients with sinus disease.

To help you breathe easier, we have provided the following information on common sinus disorders and treatments.

Sinus Problems - Sinus disorders affect nearly 50 million Americans annually, resulting in loss of productivity and needless suffering from chronic facial pain and pressure, cold-like symptoms such as sinus drainage, sore throat and cough, congestion, and fever; sinus infections, loss of taste and smell, tooth pain and bad breath. While some people find relief from over-the-counter medications, many no longer respond to these common remedies.

Snoring - How will my physician investigate my snoring?  If you are considering treatment for your snoring, it is essential to rule out obstructive sleep apnea. A careful examination of your medical history will be done. An overnight sleep test is the accepted method of evaluating your snoring and breathing patterns. Your doctor will discuss the diagnostic alternatives available and recommend the best test for you. See the breakthrough technologies offered at the St. Joseph Hospital Nasal & Sinus Center.

Somnoplasty - This is a minimally invasive procedure that occurs in our outpatient environment. It utilizes a needle electrode to emit radiofrequency energy to shrink excess tissue to the upper airway including the palate and uvula (for snoring) and base of tongue (for obstructive sleep apnea), and nasal turbinates (for chronic nasal obstruction).
