Your visit to the St. Joseph Hospital Mother-Baby Assessment Center should occur when you find out that you are pregnant. You will be given your "Pathway to Pregnancy" booklet — your personal guide through your maternity experience and your partnership with St. Joseph Hospital.
The Mother-Baby Assessment Center offers a follow-up program for all new mothers and infants. Our staff sees mother and baby together within one week after delivery.
You and your baby will be scheduled for this appointment before your discharge from the hospital after delivery. Our staff will work in conjunction with your obstetrician and pediatrician to coordinate a healthy transition for you and your baby.
Our Mother-Baby Assessment Center is a safety net we provide to assure both the health and well-being of mother and baby in the critical time between hospital discharge and the first visit with the physician. St. Joseph Hospital is the only hospital in Orange County that provides this service and the Center is open to the community.
