Minimally Invasive Knee Replacement

Partial knee replacement (PKR) is a minimally invasive procedure for relieving arthritic knee pain and disability. During the operation, the damaged surface of the knee joint is replaced with metal and plastic implants.

How is Partial Knee Replacement Surgery Done?
In a PKR procedure, only the damaged surface of the knee joint is replaced, which minimizes the trauma to healthy bone and tissue in the knee. The implant that is used in this procedure is shaped like the natural joint. Because these implants are smaller than those used for a total knee replacement, the surgical incision is smaller.
