Radiation Oncology

Welcome to the St. Joseph Hospital Department of Radiation Oncology

The Radiation Oncology Department is part of a comprehensive, multidisciplinary cancer center treating both adult and pediatric malignancies. In conjunction with both medical and surgical oncologists, our radiation oncologists and staff can offer treatment regimens of the highest quality that are evidence-based and often found only in a university setting. We also believe in offering patients the latest treatment regimens through participation in clinical trials when possible and appropriate.

All radiation oncologists at St. Joseph Hospital are board certified and bring a combination of both extensive clinical experience and up-to-date training in the latest radiotherapy techniques. With the transition to our new Center, we have the ability to deliver high-precision radiotherapy with Intensity-Modulated and Image-Guided radiation as well as the potential to deliver stereotactic radiotherapy and intraoperative radiotherapy in the near future. These technologies allow us to deliver radiotherapy more precisely to the tumor while minimizing the radiation side effects. We also offer a wide range of brachytherapy procedures for breast, prostate and gynecological malignancies.  In addition, St. Joseph Hospital is one of only two hospitals in the state of California accredited by the American College of Radiology.

The mission of St. Joseph Hospital’s Radiation Oncology Department is to provide comprehensive care to the patient and his or her loved ones through a team approach. This involves dietary as well as social and spiritual support to ensure that we are providing care to the whole patient…body, mind and spirit.
