Clinical Services

The Center for Cancer Prevention and Treatment at St. Joseph Hospital is one of the only facilities in Orange County with a completely integrated system for radiation therapy in cancer treatment. The department uses an integrated system to schedule, plan and document patient data and nursing assessments as well as deliver radiation treatments and document follow-up care for the patient. The treatments are delivered using the same integrated computer system to ensure the highest level of safety and accuracy. Our department provides innovative care to patients of all ages with cancer-related health issues, including infants, pediatric patients, adolescents, adults and geriatric patients. The majority of our patient population is outpatient; however, we also provide services to inpatients. We are one of the very few facilities to provide care to the pediatric population and have a physician that specializes in this field, as well as access to a pediatric anesthesiologist.

Approximately 720 new patient consultations are performed each year. Nearly 14,000 radiation therapy treatments are administered per year. These numbers continue to grow due to the specialized treatments our patients receive and the quality of care provided, as well as the excellent reputation for the care and state-of-the-art technology rarely found in a community hospital.
