| The Thoracic Oncology Program at St. Joseph Hospital takes a comprehensive and individualized approach to patient care. We offer a wide range of services ranging from cancer prevention and diagnosis to treatment, research and supportive care. Our program was nationally recognized at the 2005 Advisory Board Company's Oncology RoundTable annual symposium as a "best practice" model for our comprehensive program planning and our CT Screening approach to early diagnosis.

| Patient-centered care is stressed. Interdisciplinary treatment management conferences are held weekly; participants include expert thoracic surgeons, pulmonologists, medical and radiation oncologists, pathologists, radiologists, and nursing and research staff. As a team, these specialists evaluate and provide treatment recommendations for newly diagnosed lung cancer patients. Using evidence-based medicine, these healthcare professionals strive to achieve the best patient care outcomes possible tailored to the individual needs of each patient. |
