The Gooding and Immell Families Celebration 2015 presented by Ron and Marsha Moeller raised more than $420,000 towards Innovating for a Healthier Community.
"Innovating for a Healthier Community" campaign launched at 'Celebration 2015' Gala in Newport Beach on October 17, 2015.
Celebration 2015, St. Joseph Hospital's annual fundraising gala has been deemed a tremendous success. More than 500 guests, including community supporters, local business leaders, physicians, nurses, the 2015 co-chairs Geoff and Valerie Fearns, and physician champion Alejandro Ramirez, MD, gathered at the Newport Beach Marriott Hotel & Spa. Guests enjoyed an evening of silent and live auctions, raffle drawings and fine dining with live entertainment starring Jay Leno.
"It was a great evening," agreed Steve Moreau, President and CEO. "Jay was outstanding and his contribution with the auction helped raise more for our campaign."
With over $420,000 raised, proceeds from Celebration 2015 will support Innovating for a Healthier Community, a $50 Million comprehensive campaign that launched at the event. The St. Joseph Hospital campaign encompasses innovative programs and technology for the Structural Heart Disease program, the Care for the Poor Endowment, the Emergency Care Center, The Center for Cancer Prevention and Treatment, the Nursing Excellence Fund which includes an endowment component, and advanced imaging technology.
'I was truly inspired by the tremendous support from the community and our physicians. It speaks to the commitment we all have for providing the best care for our patients," shared Alejandro Ramirez, MD, the event's physician champion.
The Spirit of St. Joseph Award, which honors donors who embody the spirit of St. Joseph in their generous work, was presented at the event to Janice Ramsay-Gonzales, Scot Berlinski, and Ron and Marsha Moeller. For more than a decade, Janice Ramsay-Gonzales has been an active volunteer at St. Joseph Hospital, which has culminated in service on the Foundation's Board. Scot Berlinski has advocated on behalf of St. Joseph Hospital in multitude of ways since 2001 including growing the Foundation's philanthropic support and playing a leading role in their annual golf tournament. Through a very challenging and ongoing health diagnosis and treatment, grateful patients Ron and Marsha Moeller have stepped forward with humility and gratitude to support the hospital. Their unselfish focus on giving has included generous sponsorships of the Celebration as well as funding leading technology for lung cancer.
