Investing in a Healthy Tomorrow

St. Joseph Hospital has launched Investing In A Healthy Tomorrow a $100M comprehensive fundraising effort. This multi-year campaign provides funds for new technology and growth of key programs. With your help we can to support the "margin of excellence" at St. Joseph Hospital.

2013-2015 Priorities

Emergency Care Center Philanthropic Goal: $3.5M

The Emergency Care Center will provide a comprehensive and coordinated approach to emergency services allowing us to deliver more efficient care to best meet the needs of our patients and families. The project will focus on triage and patient flow with the goal of enhancing the emergency department visit quality, efficiency, and the overall environment.

Cancer Rehabilitation Program Philanthropic Goal: $1M

Funds for this priority allow us to build out existing space in the Center for Cancer Prevention and Treatment and provide rehabilitation equipment and programs to benefit cancer patients. Specially trained medical staff will create individual treatment plans to help patients increase endurance and strength and reduce cancer related fatigue throughout their treatment.

PET CT Positron Emission Tomography/computed tomography Philanthropic Goal: $3M

Combines two scan techniques in one exam - a PET scan and a CT scan. The PET/CT is mainly used for diagnosis, staging or restaging and evaluation of treatment response purposes. The two procedures together provide information about the location, nature of and the extent of the tumor. The PET CT helps clinicians answer questions related to the size, location, type of tumor, and reaction to treatment.

Nursing Excellence Fund Philanthropic Goal: $1M.

St. Joseph Hospital has twice been designated a Magnet® Hospital by the American Nurses' Credentialing Center, which is the highest mark of excellence any hospital's nursing service can achieve. Charitable support of the Nursing Excellence Fund ensures that St. Joseph Hospital nurses continue to be attentive to their professional development by providing them with educational opportunities to enhance their critical skills and empowering them to apply evidence-based practices to patient care.

Continuing Campaign Priorities

Robotic and Minimally Invasive Treatment Program Philanthropic Goal: $3M

This program offers surgical and other minimally invasive options to treat a variety of medical conditions. Using advanced technology including robotic assistance, surgeons can perform complex procedures that treat both benign and malignant conditions, while minimizing the discomfort and risks associated with traditional surgery.

Specific technology within the program currently includes:

  • daVinci Surgical Robot (2)
  • MAKOplasty Orthopedic Robotic Assistant
  • Hybrid Operating Room
  • Interventional Radiology Suites

Care for the Poor Endowment Philanthropic Goal: $2.5M

St. Joseph Hospital is committed to reaching out to the most vulnerable members of our communities to provide them with quality services and to resources to help them improve their health. Our La Amistad and the Puente a la Salud mobile clinics provide health care services throughout our community.

Income generated from the Care for the Poor Endowment ensures that these vial health care resources remain available to our community's most vulnerable members.

Investing In A Healthy Tomorrow Campaign fund: $3M

St. Joseph Hospital prudently manages its resources, but we are not immune to increasing financial pressures. We remain committed to maintaining a high standard of superior patient care and determined to invest in the most advanced medical and surgical treatments and procedures.
