I graduated in 1997 from Golden West College with my AA in Nursing. In 2003 I completed my BSN at California State University, Fullerton. I earned my Wound, Ostomy and Continence certificate in 2007 through a Master's certificate program at La Salle University. I then became certified in all three specialty areas. In 2010 I graduated from California State University, Long Beach with my MSN and Adult/Geriatric Nurse Practitioner. As of 2011, I am certified by ANCC as an Adult Nurse Practitioner.
After almost 10 years of working as an RN on the general surgery floor I decided to return to school to become a CWOCN. This is a specialty type of nursing that enables me to have an impact on patients' lives. I enjoy the challenges and the satisfaction that it gives me to make a difference for the patients I serve. As one of the first CWOCN/NPs on the West Coast, I am looking forward to using my skills and new role to drive changes for paitents with ostomies and wounds.
