Endoscopy services enable physicians to examine the body's passageways using an endoscope. This scope has a tiny camera attached to a long, thin and flexible tube that moves through the body. Depending on the region of your body being examined, the endoscope may be inserted through an opening in the mouth, anus or urethra. In some cases, the endoscope may be inserted through a small incision in the skin.
The Endoscopy Center provides holistic treatment for patients of St. Joseph Hospital and Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) needing endoscopic procedures of the gastrointestinal and respiratory tracks. Along with providing patients and their families with clinical excellence, we strive for a comfortable, healing environment, enhanced through such items as a warm blanket, music or aromatherapy.
