Erectile Dysfunction

Erectile Dysfunction (ED) is defined as the inability to initiate or maintain an erection for satisfactory sexual intercourse. According to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), ED impacts up to 30 million American men. Although a common occurrence, especially as a man ages, many men are reluctant to discuss the issue. However, there are many safe and effective treatments available that can restore a man's sexual health.

Causes

Risk factors for ED include:

  • Age, most common in men over 50
  • Alcohol
  • Central nervous system disorders
  • Chronic diseases, such as renal failure and dialysis
  • Depression
