Breast Cancer Genetics
Anyone concerned about a personal and/or family history of cancer can benefit from a hereditary cancer risk evaluation, especially individuals with a personal and/or family history of:
- Breast cancer diagnosed under age 50
- Male breast cancer at any age
- Two or more separate breast cancers
- Breast and ovarian cancer in the same woman or in close relatives
- Two or more close relatives with breast cancer
- Ashkenazi Jewish ancestry and breast or ovarian cancer at any age
- Many instances of early onset breast cancer, bone or soft tissue cancer, sarcoma, adrenocortical carcinoma, brain cancer, and/or early onset leukemia
- Multiple instances of breast, thyroid and uterine cancers
