Radiation Therapists
The radiation therapists are integral members of the radiation oncology team. They are highly trained, certified healthcare professionals specializing in radiation treatment delivery. They are certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT), and licensed by the state of California (CRT).
The primary responsibility of the radiation therapist is to accurately deliver the treatment prescribed by the radiation oncologist. The therapist accomplishes this by positioning the patient accurately and administering the radiation treatment on the linear accelerator on a daily basis. The advantage of working with a familiar face on a daily basis becomes evident in the patient-therapist professional relationship, through daily communication.
