When communicating in English is not possible or advisable, St. Joseph Hospital is committed to providing interpreter services in order to maintain efficient and adequate communications with patients and families in their primary language. This includes services for patients/families who use/need sign language or Telecommunication Devices for the Deaf (TDD) to communicate. The hospital contracts with outside agencies for services and maintains a roster of staff to meet the need. Televisions in patient rooms are closed captioned. The hospital also provides individual TTD devices for use in patient rooms.
