Blood Donor Center

Every year, more than 29 million units of blood components are needed nationwide. Blood transfusions often aid trauma victims, heart surgery, organ transplants, and patients receiving treatment for leukemia, cancer or other diseases such as sickle cell disease and thalassemia.

Despite the increasing need for blood and blood components, fewer than five percent of healthy Americans eligible to donate blood actually donate. Employees of St. Joseph Hospital and blood donors from the community may volunteer to donate blood to help support and maintain the general blood supply used by patients at both St. Joseph Hospital and Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC).

To donate, please call the Blood Donor Center at 714-744-8721. The Blood Donor Center is open Monday through Friday. Please call for an appointment. Walk-ins are also welcome.
