Hole in One Scored for The Center for Cancer Prevention and Treatment
More than 200 Orange County golf enthusiasts came together March 30, 2009, for the 24th Annual Todos Golf Tournament sponsored by Aramark Healthcare, at the Coto de Caza Golf and Racquet Club. Proceeds from the golf tournament - more than $250,000 - will help patients who receive care in the hospital’s cancer center. The golf tournament featured a merchandise store, contests, opportunity drawings, silent auctions and awards.
The planning committee surpassed their goal and scored a hole in one for the one of the few cancer centers in the nation offering the latest in diagnostics, treatment and clinical trials.
“This year was our best year yet,” said Dan Richardson, Golf Tournament Co-Chair. “Participants were more than eager to contribute to a cancer center that has access to the latest in prevention, diagnosis, treatment and clinical trials and also play golf in a fabulous setting.” Golf Tournament Co-Chair Eileen Doody added, “It was wonderful to see that despite the challenging economic times, the community was able to come together to support such a worthy cause.”
Proceeds from the event will support the hospital’s 87,000 square-foot Center for Cancer Prevention and Treatment, which opened its doors in July 2008. The center, which includes unique design elements such as skylights and soothing color palettes based on the input of former cancer patients, offers the country’s most innovative technology in cancer care and prevention.
