St. Joseph Hospital has a dynamic volunteer program comprised of more than 900 volunteers ranging from age 14 to over 90 years of age. Our dedicated volunteers serve in more than 40 areas of the hospital, some directly with patients and visitors, and others in support areas. Departments that utilize volunteers include the Emergency Department (18 years minimum), Mammography, Nursing Units, Radiology, Surgery Prep and Recovery, two beautiful Gift Shops, and Admitting. There are also clerical support assignments for our volunteers who would like to help with projects in an office setting. Many volunteers prefer Messenger Service where they stay physically active running a variety of patient support errands including discharging patients.
As we continue to offer the exceptional care at St. Joseph Hospital that Orange County residents have relied upon for more than 80 years, private support - both financial contributions and volunteerism - is critical. Adults and College Students
If you are interested in becoming a St. Joseph Hospital volunteer and are able to commit to 100 hours of service, download a pre-application by clicking on the button below that says, "Sign up here to Give the Gift of Time." Those selected as volunteer candidates will be contacted within two weeks as to the upcoming monthly orientation dates. Reservations are required.
