Employee Partners Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I become an Employee Partner?
Employee participation in the campaign – regardless of the size of your gift – shows the community that the hospital is supported by individuals who know it best, it’s very own family. Employees also provide much needed support for capital, facilities, and programs.

I think my pledge is expiring. Do I need to sign up again?
If your pledge is expiring and you would like to continue your support, please fill out another support form (located in the Employee Partners brochure or click here) and return it to your department representative or to the Foundation. What are the benefits of becoming an Employee Partner?
Employees who give through the 30/60/90 Plan, My Plan, or make a one time gift will be recognized on the Employee Partners plaque located on the wall in the gift shop lobby. Beyond name recognition, Employee Partners get the satisfaction of knowing they are furthering St. Joseph Hospital’s Culture of Philanthropy.

What is the 30/60/90 Plan?
Each pay-period, the equivalent of 30, 60 or 90 minutes of pay will be donated out of your paycheck to the fund you selected. Deductions continue for three years (78 pay periods) unless stopped by the employee. The amount of your deduction does not increase with promotions or merit increases and all information on the pledge form is confidential.

Can I contribute a particular dollar amount rather than a 30/60/90 equivalent?
Yes. On your pledge form, designate the amount you would like to contribute from each paycheck on the My Plan line. The minimum amount that can be processed each pay period is $5.

Can I make a one-time contribution?
Yes! One-time gifts are appreciated. The minimum gift for payroll deduction is $5. Any size gift can be accepted by check or credit card.

Are gifts tax-deductible?
Yes, if you itemize your deductions on your income tax return, all contributions to non-profit organizations are deductible to the extent provided by law.

Can I change my pledge if my financial circumstances change?
Yes. Call the Foundation at 714-347-7900 and request any changes necessary. If you retire or leave the hospital, your pledge is terminated upon your departure.

What if I can’t give at this time?
Please know that as an employee you are greatly appreciated, whether or not you become an Employee Partner at this time. If you would like to become an Employee Partner at a future time, please let the Foundation know by calling 714-347-7900 or emailing foundation@stjoe.org
