Foundation-Sponsored Scholarships

Each year, St. Joseph Hospital Foundation awards scholarships to its caregivers. These scholarships are made possible through generous gifts made to the Foundation. The scholarships are given to individuals who are pursuing an educational goal at an accredited institution.

Sr. Frances Dunn Scholarship
Provides financial assistance to caregivers working on certificates, degrees, or coursework leading to licensure for healthcare-related careers. Eligibility: St. Joseph Hospital employees¹.

Alice Paone, RN Nursing Scholarship
Provides financial assistance to individuals working on professional advancement in nursing. Eligibility: St. Joseph Hospital employees¹, volunteers, and their children².

Thomas Dorsey, MD Cardiovascular Services Scholarship
Provides financial assistance to individuals working on professional advancement in cardiovascular or radiographic careers. Eligibility: St. Joseph Hospital catheterization lab nurses and technicians¹, volunteers, their children, and members of the general community.²,³

Dominick Gentile, MD Renal Services Scholarship
Provides financial assistance to caregivers working on professional advancement in renal services. Eligibility: St. Joseph Hospital Renal Center, Renal Department nurses, and technicians¹.

Madeline Colette Seeds, RN Advance Practice Nursing Scholarship
Provides financial assistance to caregivers working on academic achievement from the R.N./B.S.N to the M.S.N. level. Eligibility: St. Joseph Hospital employees.¹

Administrative Leadership Scholarship
The first scholarship honors Larry K. Ainsworth's 16 years of successful management of St. Joseph Hospital. It provides financial assistance to caregivers working towards health-care or health-business related degrees, specifically those fields in which St. Joseph Hospital has a vested interest. Eligibility: St. Joseph Hospital employees¹.

The second scholarship honors Steven C. Moreau's dedication not only to St. Joseph Hospital but also to his inspirational leadership in Hospital Mission work. It provides financial assistance to caregivers pursuing medical mission work. Eligibility: St. Joseph Hospital employees¹ and accredited medical staff.

Irene Morris Miller, RN Scholarship Fund in Memory of Ron Miller, MD
Provides financial assistance to parents working on professional advancement in nursing. Eligibility: St. Joseph Hospital employees¹, volunteers, and their children.

1. St. Joseph Hospital employees who have met the equivalent of one full year of service, on either a part-time or full-time basis.
2. There is no assumed employment obligation attached to this scholarship for non-employees.
3. Members of the general community must have a St. Joseph Hospital caregiver sponsor.
