ORANGE, CA (October 13, 2017) - Celebration 2017, St. Joseph Hospital's annual fundraising gala, raised more than $450,000 for the nationally-recognized St. Joseph Hospital Heart and Vascular Center and a new cardiac catheterization laboratory. On Saturday, October 7, more than 450 guests, including physicians , nurses, hospital staff, supporters of the hospital, philanthropists, community leaders and business professionals, enjoyed live and silent auctions, an Orange Coast Infiniti raffle, the annual presentation of the Spirit of St. Joseph Award, and spectacular dining experiences with a live performance by multiple Grammy® nominee Martina McBride at the City National Grove of Anaheim.

"Heart disease is our country's leading cause of death for both men and women," said Jeremy Zoch, Chief Executive of St. Joseph Hospital. "Support for better technology and improved ways to treat heart disease is a top priority for all of us."

Proceeds from Celebration 2017 support the Heart and Vascular Center and the new cardiac catheterization lab at St. Joseph Hospital. Next-generation catheterization labs help to improve the quality and cost-effectiveness of patient care by expanding room capabilities and broadening the procedure mix. Equipped with advanced imaging technology, an advanced catheterization lab can provide exceptional flexibility and support for a wide range of cardiovascular procedures.

"Thanks to innovative technology and new approaches to keeping the heart healthy, we can treat heart disease today like never before," said Brian Kolski, MD, a St. Joseph Hospital cardiologist and Celebration Co-Chair. "We are very thankful for all the supporters who will make a difference in the lives of many Orange County Families. "St. Joseph Hospital is committed to be the leading resource for cardiac care in Orange County."

Dr. Kolski was joined as Co-Chair by cardiologist Aidan Raney, MD, and honorary chairs Tyson Cobb, MD, Warren Johnston, MD, Brian Palafox, MD, and Lawrence Santora, MD.

The Spirit of St. Joseph Award, which honors donors who embody the spirit of St. Joseph in their generous work, was presented to Santo and Josephine Zito.
