    Philosophy of Care
I made the decision to be an internist because of my belief that every patient deserves compassionate, respectful, high-quality care. I believe that early diagnosis and treatment help patients stay healthy and well over time.

In my free time, I enjoy singing in my church choir, reading spiritual books and gardening.

    Areas of Expertise
Dr. Laura M. Cho made the decision to be an internist because of her belief that every patient deserves compassionate, respectful, high-quality care. Her approach to achieving this goal is to diagnose chronic problems early and provide state-of-the-art treatment for diseases such as diabetes and high cholesterol. This approach is a high priority for her, as she believes that early diagnosis and treatment help her patients stay healthy and well over time. Dr.. Cho attended the University of Southern California School of Medicine in Los Angeles, graduating in 1993. She completed her internship and residency in 1994 and 1996, respectively, at the Kaiser Foundation Hospital, Los Angeles. She is board certified in Internal Medicine. Dr. Cho gets personal satisfaction from taking care of post-menopausal women, offering them broader treatment options, such as the use of bio-identical hormone replacement therapy. Above all, Dr. Cho sees each patient as a precious human being, rather than a case or app

My doctor took extra time than planned to address my health questions. She dealt with all questions I asked, although this put her behind in her schedule. Very appreciated.
Dr. Cho has been my PCP since around * when I was old enough to leave my pediatrician. I have ADHD that has continued into adulthood. I have been under consistent treatment for ADHD since I was * years old and have been taking meds since I was around * years old. Dr. Cho has RXed my ADHD meds during her time as my PCP. I know the FDA is cracking down on controlled drugs, however I feel judged by Dr. Cho. I have never misused my medication or broken the narcotics contract I have signed with her. When speaking to her, I get a sense that she is allowing her personal feelings about the medication to affect her caring for me. I am a nurse and recently went to Dr. Cho to inform her that my employer will be relocating me temporarily to *. I will be travelling back and forth the next several month to assist my employer with their expansion to other states besides California. Dr. Cho instead of refilling my meds for 4 months per usual, she gave me a 30 day RX and advised me I need to establish care with a new PCP in *. I told her that I will be travelling back and forth for work and can still come for f/u visits with her and get my refills at the same pharmacy I have always gone to. She declined to further treat me. Dr. Cho was not perceptive to my needs, I am currently in * unable to fill my last RX until I get home to California in *. Work is doable but I am struggling with time management and concentration during the day which makes my professional and personal life more difficult. I can establish care in * but it is tedious to start over (she is my only doctor I have seen as an adult) and will be expensive as I don't have insurance coverage in * except for emergency services. Once I get home around *, I will have to establish care with a different provider at St. Joseph Heritage since Dr. Cho will not continue treating me. I feel like this is a departure from the quality of care I should expect from St. Joseph Health. I have not done anything to merit this and quite frankly I feel blind sided as I try to figure out a back up plan. I have always complied and done everything Dr. Cho requests. I come to all of my routine check up and also every 4 months for all of my med refills. No longer having a California PCP left me feeling even more stressed to pile onto my relocation for work. I have PCOS which requires monitoring and hormone therapy that I will also need to find an alternative physician for. Thank you for listening.
Dr. Cho was thorough. She was kind and attentive.
Dr Cho always appears interested in my well being, she is thorough and very organized.
she takes time with her patients and listens to concerns. she is very helpful.
