Anna Houterman, MD

Dr. Anna Houterman is a board certified, fellowship trained breast surgeon who practices in Laguna Hills and performs surgery in nearby community hospitals. She specializes in benign and malignant diseases of the breast, and is passionate about providing excellent care for her patients and using the most advanced surgical techniques. She has expertise in oncoplastic surgery, breast conservation surgery, nipple sparing mastectomy and sentinel node biopsy. Dr. Houterman received her medical degree from the University of Southern California School of Medicine. She then completed a general surgery residency at Kaiser Permanente, and returned to USC to complete a specialty fellowship in breast surgical oncology. She earned her undergraduate degree from Harvard University, where she graduated cum laude in biochemistry. Prior to joining UCLA Health in 2018, Dr. Houterman worked in private practice with the Orange County Breast Care Specialists group. During her career she has authored many peer-reviewed journal articles and has spoken at academic conferences and community events. She is an active member of academic groups, including the American Society of Breast Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons.
