    Dr. Steven Smith received his Medical Degree from Creighton University in Omaha in 1991. After the completion of his Residency through the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in 1994, Dr. Smith was Board Certified in Family Medicine. His Family Medicine Residency was ranked in the top 4 nationwide and the chairman, Dr. Larry Green, later became the chief adviser to President Bill Clinton for primary health care administration under the ASPN model. He practiced in Denver for the next five years and was an active Clinical Faculty Member for the University of Colorado School of Medicine teaching Medical students and Residents.

    Dr. Smith has been actively practicing Family Medicine for the past 20 years. His special areas of interest are orthopedics, skin and wound care, and promotion of the core health of all family members. He has additional training in autism spectrum disorders from the UCSB Bob and Lynn Koegel Institute for autism research. He collaborated with a local behavioral therapist, Dr. Benjamin Todd Eller, Ph.D., on a joint project with Baby First television regarding developmental delays in children, writing a chapter in his book.

    He enjoys spending time with his wife and 17 year old son and 19 year old daughter. He is an avid guitar player as well as skier. He enjoys reading, building computers and programing, classic car restoration, home improvement projects, camping and spending time at the beach.
