Transitional Care Unit

Our Transitional Care Unit (TCU) is available for babies who might need a little extra care as they transition after a delivery. Our neonatologist partners from CHOC Children's are available for any needs requiring a higher level of attention during this time.

Our TCU provides specialty care for:

  • Babies who require close observation immediately following delivery because they have respiratory difficulty, temperature instability, etc.
  • Babies who require medical treatments such as phototherapy beyond mother’s admission, short term antibiotic therapy or respiratory support.
  • Babies whose mothers require a higher level of care on another unit. (e.g., Intensive Care Unit or Medical Telemetry Unit.)
