Help After Discharge

Breastfeeding help

As new parents it is important to become well informed about breastfeeding. We offer breastfeeding support prenatally, during your hospital stay and after you are discharged. Taking classes prenatally will help you and your partner gain the knowledge and confidence to be successful. Classes are available throughout the month in a group setting. There are also classes available online for those who prefer to be in the comfort of their own home while learning.

Lactation Consultants are available for private sessions at any time during your pregnancy and or after the birth of your baby. Our lactation consultants are very experienced to work with you at any stage of your baby’s development to support your breastfeeding experience. Unicef, the World Health Organization (WHO) and the AAP recommend exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months and continuing for 12 months or as long as mother and baby mutually desire. This is based on research and scientific evidence that shows benefits for infants’ health, proper growth and development. Breastmilk provides all the nutrients the baby needs during the first six months. Exclusive breastfeeding may also reduce infant deaths caused by common childhood illnesses such as diarrhea and pneumonia and shortens recovery during an illness. The importance of making decisions for the best health of your baby starts with inquiring the knowledge to be successful.

For prenatal classes.
